B.I.D. - Bulk Image Downloader Rocks!!!

I’m a fan of photos, whether they’re high resolution shots of celebrities or beautiful photos that you find on Flickr.com. With so many great photos that you can download individually, the task becomes time consuming. With so many photos, you need a program to download all of them.

That’s where Antibody’s B.I.D. [Bulk Image Downloader] comes in very handy. BID offers the ability to download multiple files and stack the files in a queue, waiting to be downloaded. You can download photos from all the popular forums that use external hosting sites for their photos and photo websites like Flickr, Picasso, and Webshots. In the photo above, BID will scan up to 20 pages on a user’s photostream on Flickr.

In the past, I’ve tried using all the different free programs that claim they do the same thing as BID, but they don’t. BID is free, but with less features compared to the paid [$24.95] version.I strongly recommend purchasing the software, because it’s cheap and you get lifetime updates.

Benefits

The GUI [Graphical User Interface] is simple to learn and use. You can choose where you want to store the photos on your hardrive, and the program creates a folder, giving the title of the folder the page title. You can also choose different views of each photo you plan on downloading [as pictured above]. You can choose “text only” which is the default view, but you have 3 other thumbnail sizes to choose from too.

BID also integrates into your web browser with “right click mouse” menu if you use Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera. For Firefox, you will have to download a plugin, but it works flawlessly after that. The program also remembers your previous options in older versions when you download and install updates. The program is updated frequently, so this is a great feature to have.

BID comes with 3 different programs, BID Downloader, BID Queue, and BID Link Explorer. BID downloader is the default program for downloading pages, but you can use the Queue program to have many pages in line for downloads. The BID Link Explorer is designed to process web pages that contain links to multiple web galleries (web gallery “index” pages). It extracts all links from the selected web page and displays them on screen.

Drawbacks

The only flaw in the software is extremely long page names/title make downloads fail. If this happens, retry the download, but shorten the “Page Title”.

Conclusion

If you’re looking to have a reliable software program that makes it easy to download thousands of photos at a time, then you’ll love BID. I can easily say that nearly every user that purchased the program loves it. It’s a no-brainer if you want a image downloader. So visit Antibody’s website and checkout Bulk Image Downloader.
